Features and facilities of TexTable
TexTable supports analysis of textual case data together with numerical data stored in an SPSS data set. It has ample provisions for creating views of your case text data, and facilitates both case text coding and SPSS variable creation. Among its features:
- Multiple table generation on the basis of case selection using SPSS variables
- Automatic case coding by applying categories created on the basis of the words used in the case texts.
- Automatic SPSS variable creation
TexTable is an easy program to work with. The main menu reflects the basic steps you take when working with TexTable:
- selecting variables
- creating tables
- creating and applying categories
- saving the resulting case values to the SPSS data set
Then, the newly created variables can be analysed together with the existing numerical data.
TexTable allows the user to code case texts automatically by creating and applying categories on the basis of words in the texts. Categories are groups of words that you consider to refer to or be relevant to the same field of interest. When you apply a category, a table variable column is created. After inspection and correction, it can be saved as a variable in your SPSS data.
TexTable was developed in C++ using the Borland Builder development environment. It runs on all current versions of Windows.
